An Introduction to Composites

This pre trade micro-credential introduces school leavers and youth in New Zealand to composites, providing learners the opportunity to gain the knowledge and skills in the marine and industrial composites industry to go onto a full composites apprenticeship.


An Introduction to composites includes practical and theory in :

  • Use and care of hand tools

  • Use of portable power tools

  • Applying health and safety in the composites workplace

  • Employment expectations in a composites workplace

  • Perform measurements and calculations relevant to the workplace

  • Prepare and pre form lamination materials

  • Blend resins

  • Contribute to a project team

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Legal eligibility to study in NZ Residents and Citizens only. Minimum of 16 years of age. English language requirements.

COURSE FEES

Cost (2025) - $1260.00 + GST

Includes all workshops, learning resources and assessment.


Cost (2024) Work-based learner fee - $600.00 + GST includes all learning resources and assessment.
